Hi,

Now I think I understand what happened. Many years ago, I couldn’t manage Wikimedia properly, so I asked a friend of mine, Luis Pisoni, to help me. He was (and still is) also managing my website. He created for me the account “User:Mazzoldi” and uploaded my painting “Depression”, also adding a short description of me as a painter on that user page.

Later, I decided to manage Wikimedia by myself and I created a new account, “User:Auroramazzoldi”. I had forgotten that an older account already existed, so by mistake I tried to manage User:Mazzoldi as if it were mine.

What can I do now?

If my friend deletes the account User:Mazzoldi, the link to that user in the Depression file will no longer work — and I would prefer (if allowed) to keep both accounts active.

Edit kind: While trying to download PDF documents for my research on anarchist movements in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, an error message appeared on my screen preventing me from sharing official documents from the Swiss Federal Archives website. The message stated that, as a new user, I could not publish documents I had not created.

@Qody73: In addition to the above, please read Mediawiki:Abusefilter-disallowed-pdf-new-user-upload again. You may upload any image(s) here and make a draft article with transcribed wikitext on Wikipedia, if in compliance. @Jeff G. Hello! I recently started a project to upload the Swiss Federal Archives concerning anarchists to Commons, as you may have seen in my latest uploads. These are historically interesting documents that have unfortunately been little studied by historians because the classification of the Swiss archives, plus the fact that they are multilingual, makes everything complicated. With a historian we are collaborating with (and with whom I am currently discussing so that he uploads his own collection to Commons, by the way) we thought that uploading these sources would be interesting for their preservation, their scientific treatment and, more broadly, the documentation of the movement.

In this regard, I discussed with Qody73, who is a person I respect, and they were interested in helping me and in discovering Commons and the Wikimedia projects. I think such a project is immediately very exciting as a way to start, because it involves uploading historical archives to Commons, and it's always nice to feel useful—at least it's intellectually motivating, I think. This is why I don't know if it's possible to remove their filter or whatever, but all the documents from the Swiss archives are in very good quality pdf format, and they have downloaded the files relating to the surveillance of anarchists in the canton of Bern (which is empty, as you can see). If it's possible to remove this filter, I guarantee that they will not make any stupidities, that the documents they upload will be free of rights, and that they will relatively quickly exceed 500 additions.
